Pre-Doctoral Workshop for Underrepresented Students of Color |
October 27 & 28, 2018 ~ Buffalo, NYScroll to the bottom of the page for the workshop application form!
The Workshop is primarily geared toward students who are currently enrolled in bachelors and master's programs of planning and related disciplines. The Workshop will be limited to approximately 25 students to ensure adequate mentorship and promote individual and targeted attention to students. Students from groups that are under-represented on planning faculties are particularly encouraged to apply. Groups that are under-represented on planning faculties include: African-Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans, and Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Islanders. Through generous support of ACSP and the University at Buffalo, registration and instructional materials will be provided at no cost, lodging and meals will also be provided at no cost, and travel stipends are available for some students. More information on this is being confirmed. The workshop will include a mix of faculty presentations, panel-led discussion and small-group sessions which will enable more in-depth conversations with faculty and other doctoral students. Prior to arrival students will be asked to provide some information about their interests in planning that will assist in creating a program more targeted to student interest and concerns. Complete the application below and submit no later than September 7. Applications received are immediately shared with the Application Review Sub-Committee and decisions can be made on qualifying applicants on a rolling basis. Once accepted a simple registration form will be required along with confirmation of travel arrangements. Scroll for the workshop application.
