Virtually Celebrating 60 Years!

Each year, we post ACSP "Fun Facts" to highlight the location of our Annual Conference. This year we're going virtual as we celebrate 60 years of conferencing together, so we're sharing ACSP Fun Facts below!

2020 Fun Facts:

  • ACSP's first official president was William B. Mitchell, University of Pennsylvania, from 1959-1960
  • ACSP's first female president was Catherine Ross, Georgia Tech, who served the Association from 1993-1995
  • ACSP's 50th Annual Conference (ACSP2010) was held in Minneapolis, Minnesota


The Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning promotes education, research, service and outreach in the United States and throughout the world by seeking to:

  • recognize diverse needs and interests in planning;
  • improve and enhance the accreditation process, and;
  • strengthen the role of planning education in colleges and universities through publications, conferences, and community engagement;
  • extend planning beyond the classroom into the world of practice.
