Search for Faculty in Real Estate, Department of Urban Design and Planning, College of Built Environments, University of Washington.

The Department of Urban Design and Planning announces a Professor, Associate Professor, or Assistant Professor (tenured or tenure-track) position in Real Estate. Although the position is open rank, we seek candidates with proven senior leadership experience and a robust research agenda, who are keen and qualified to participate in doctoral student advising and direct curriculum and course development for the Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE) program and the Master of Urban Planning (MUP) program’s Specialization in Real Estate.

The MSRE program is relatively new, and is likely to require a number of additional new hires in coming years. The advertised position therefore has great potential for institutional impact, and to shape Real Estate as an academically rigorous discipline at the University of Washington, and in the world. The ideal candidate is a scholar of distinction whose work in real estate addresses broad urban and planning problems, and who will advance research and industry partnerships in coordination with the Runstad Center for Real Estate Studies.

Only applicants with a PhD in a relevant discipline will be considered. Evidence of strong teaching and research skills and a record of publication appropriate for the position are essential, and experience developing and enhancing specialized graduate real estate degree programs is desirable. Appointment will be on a full-time, 9-month basis, with rank, salary, and tenured/non-tenured (tenure-track) status commensurate with qualifications and experience. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
