University of Oklahoma: Recruiting Graduate Assistantships Available for Fall 2020
Tuesday, January 21, 2020
The University of Oklahoma (OU) has opened applications for the Fall 2020 Master's of Regional and City Planning (RCPL) program. We have 6 Graduate Assistants (GA) funded for the 2020-2021 school year for residents and non-residents, which includes a tuition waiver and stipend. To recruit students of underrepresented backgrounds in Oklahoma, at least 2 GAs are dedicated to students of one or more of the following identities:
- African American/Black
- Native/Indigenous/American Indian/Alaskan Native
- Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander
- Asian American
- First generation students
- Students of LGBTQ identities
These recruitment efforts are part of efforts to address issues of social justice and increasing diversity among graduates to benefit the profession and communities in which they work. Students who have interests or experience in social justice and planning with diverse communities will also be considered.
RCPL students have an over 90% job placement rate within 6 months of graduation. OU offers small classroom sizes and tailors courses to fit student interests. The University is located in Norman, which is an affordable city that is just 30 minutes outside of Oklahoma City. Admissions are on a rolling basis. Students interested in a GA are encouraged to apply by March 15, 2020. Contact Dr. Meghan Wieters at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and questions about the GAs.
