Dear ACSP Members:

On behalf of the ACSP Governing Board, we are in the final stages of developing our ACSP values statement. This has been a year-long process. Marlon Boarnet and Carissa Slotterback co-chair of the values statement task force, with members Elham “Ellie” Masoomkhah, Lucie Laurian, Kristin Larsen, C. Aujean Lee, Laxmi Ramasubramanian, Jane Rongerude, Austin Troy, Mary K. Wolfe, and Shannon Van Zandt.

The current draft is the result of an extensive engagement program that included 11 focus groups with participation from 57 members (in May and June of 2018), a survey of members, outreach to our interest groups, and multiple sessions and comments at the fall 2018 ACSP conference. Thanks to the many of you who commented and responded, and a hearty thank you to the task force, which produced the draft.

We are soliciting a last round of comment and feedback via this Google form. Please suggest changes and/or edits, citing the line number in the document titled ACSP Values Statement Draft for Comment. If you have general comments about the statement and/or the process, enter in the form as well.

The ACSP Governing Board will consider this values statement at the March 14 meeting, with a vote on adoption. For that reason, the comment period will close on February 22 so as to allow the task force to collate and incorporate comments from this last round.

For your information, we have linked here a document detailing the process and a document containing a summary of early comments.

We look forward to your input. Thank you!

Weiping, Marlon, Carissa, & Joe
Your ACSP Officers / Executive Committee
