Submissions for Print Version
The print version of Update is published only four times each year. Due to space
limitations, if is difficult to print all of the news submitted by schools, especially.
Stories for the print version of should focus on one or two especially significant events
or accomplishments. Stories may also explore issues of concern to planning academicians
that have few other outlets but that are of interest to a broad audience of planning
faculty. Stories might concern educational issues in planning (pedagogical issues,
curriculum issues, etc.), descriptions of new research and teaching tools (e.g., software,
databases), descriptions of effective or innovative methods of conducting community
service and outreach, philosophical issues, or policy issues related to planning and
planning education and research. Items will be selected based upon the editor's judgment. All
stories that are submitted will be published in the electronic version of Update.
When submitting stories, please be sure to provide the author's name, title, and
affiliation(s).

Submissions for the Web Version
Member schools are invited to submit summaries of the individual accomplishments and
activities of their faculty members and students to the web version of Update's
"News from the Schools." This information will be posted in the electronic
version of the newsletter but will generally not be included in the print version.
Schools are encouraged to provide a web address alongside the school name. The web
version will provide a link to the school's URL if it is provided anywhere in the title or
text of the story.
How to Submit Items to ACSP Update
Items should be submitted via email, preferably as an attachment. We try to
acknowledge receipt of all submissions. If you have an item of special importance, such as
a job announcement or announcement of a conference, we recommend that you also send a fax
or mail copy to assure that we have received it.
Items for the web version may be, though they need not, be submitted in html format.
You may submit a separate gif file (e.g., school logo) with an html formatted file. Files
submitted in html format generally will not be further edited for html syntax errors.
Therefore, any html formatted files should be "road-tested" before submission to
the web version of ACSP Update.
