The School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning at Arizona State University seeks a tenure-track assistant professor in urban planning. We seek an individual whose approach is interdisciplinary and solution-oriented, and who is interested in working with stakeholders and decision makers. The successful applicant will be able to develop and engage in collaborative efforts across both the School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning and the university; teach courses supporting undergraduate and graduate programs in planning; and establish a strong record in external funding and publication in refereed journals. Anticipated start date is August 16, 2014.
Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in planning, geography, engineering, or related field; and a specialization in transportation planning, policy, and/or practice with an emphasis on urban structure.
Desired qualifications include: (1) demonstrated record of published research and research grants: (2) demonstrated record of working with stakeholders and decision makers: and (3) expertise in one or more of the following: (a) land-use/transportation modeling, (b) sustainable, healthy cities/smart growth, (c) travel behavior, (d) environmental impacts, and urban design.
