The Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University seeks applicants for a faculty position. The faculty member will teach in both graduate and undergraduate programs. The newly hired faculty member must be able to contribute to our national ranking in urban policy/city management. We seek a colleague with expertise and training in urban studies broadly, with a specialization area in urban public policy and the policy process. This is a tenure-track position covered by American Association of University Professors.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in urban studies, public policy, urban planning, economics, geography, public administration, or a related field; ABD candidates must confirm completion of all requirements for the Ph.D. by July 1, 2014. Potential for engaged scholarship and thought leadership that will contribute to the areas of urban studies and urban policy and management.

Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated expertise in workforce development, anti-poverty policy or education policy that relates to economic development and the Levin College's theme of city management and urban policy. Demonstrated research record and evidence of competent teaching for undergraduate courses generally in urban studies and/or urban policy and graduate courses in urban economic development and public policy. Willingness/ability to work with the College's Center for Economic Development is desirable.

Candidates should submit a personal statement covering research, teaching, and service interests and expertise. The statement should also include information on which courses currently offered at the Levin College he or she is qualified to teach and describe a new course that could be brought to the college. A curriculum vita, a writing sample, teaching evaluations if available, and a sample syllabus, if appropriate, should also be submitted.
