Tenure Track Position

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at Savannah State University, a senior unit of the University System of Georgia, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor for a graduate faculty member in the Urban Studies and Planning program, with a start date no later than August, 2014.

Applications are welcome from candidates who hold (or be expected to receive prior to August 2014) a doctorate in urban and regional planning, or an equivalent degree in a related field. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm and qualifications necessary to advance the program, engage graduate and undergraduate students, and establish relationships that will help build a regionally-respected graduate program of the Master of Science in Urban Studies and Planning.

We are seeking an outstanding individual with expertise in historic preservation, transportation planning, environmental planning, economic development and/or urban design. Research interests in Africa and/or Latin America and AICP membership would also be of value.
