The Department of Community and Regional Planning (CRP) in the College of Design at Iowa State University is seeking to fill a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor starting August 16, 2014. The successful candidate will contribute to the mission of the department and the College of Design through teaching core planning courses and electives at the graduate and undergraduate levels. We are seeking an outstanding individual who will contribute to teaching and research in urban design, physical planning, and site development, with strengths in community participation/engagement. The college offers a new interdisciplinary program in a number of areas including a Master of Urban Design (M.U.D.) and a Master of Design in Sustainable Environments (M.D.S.E.), and the successful candidate will be expected to make significant contributions to CRP and one or both of these new programs.
Candidates must have, at a minimum, the following required qualifications: a Ph.D. in Planning or related field. ABDs will be considered, but the Ph.D. must be completed by the start date of employment. Preference will be given to a Ph.D. in Planning, teaching experience, a strong publication record, evidence of funded research potential and AICP membership.
