Position: Part-time two-year non-tenure track position as Lecturer for the period September 2013 through May 2015. This is a nine-month academic year position from September to May of each year.
Description: The Department of Urban Studies and Planning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is seeking a part-time non tenure-track Lecturer in the area of Urban Design with an emphasis on teaching introductory urban design skills, landscape planning concepts, and digital representation. The person hired will be expected to teach professional degree candidates in city planning, advise masters-level students on their academic program and masters’ theses related to urban design, city and landscape planning. The Department seeks a dynamic and creative teacher with a record as a practicing professional in urban design, architecture or landscape architecture.
Minimum Qualifications: A graduate (master) professional degree in planning, architecture, landscape architecture, urban design or related field is required. Minimum 3 years of professional experience in design; prior teaching experience in professional development or at a graduate level; ability to teach skill building courses in urban design and landscape planning.
