POSITION: Probationary; Nine Month Appointment*

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Teach core Urban Planning courses at the undergraduate and graduate level (e.g., zoning, operational planning, land use regulations, planning history and theory, long range planning).
• Support specialized instruction, including, but not limited to: quantitative methods and planning, economic development, online learning, cultural diversity, and/or general education instruction.
• Develop an applied research program and publication record involving undergraduate and graduate students.
• Contribute to professional and community organizations.
• All faculty members are expected to advise majors, carry out research, and provide service to the department, college, university and community.
• Additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ph.D. in Urban Planning or related field (or ABD with degree conferred on an official transcript by August 1, 2013).

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:

• Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis (i.e. SPSS, research methods, statistical methods and technology).
• Experience in planning practice, including, transportation, housing, and/or urban design.
• Teaching experience in URSI planning.
• Ability to teach core Urban Planning courses at the undergraduate and graduate level (i.e. zoning, operational planning, land use regulations, planning history and theory, long range planning).
• Ability to conduct specialized instruction in two or more specialized areas including quantitative methods and planning, economic development, online learning, cultural diversity, and/or general education instruction.
• Previous experience with Economic Development, Program Evaluation, Policy analysis, Community Leadership and/or GIS
• Commitment to active, applied, learning and to developing innovative ways to support learning and student growth.
• Ability to develop an applied research program and publication record involving undergraduate and graduate students.
• Member, American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
