Auburn University announces a national search for a new Dean and McWhorter Professor for its College of Architecture, Design, and Construction. The College of Architecture, Design, and Construction is a multi-disciplinary College comprised of three academic units: the School of Architecture, the Department of Industrial and Graphic Design, and the McWhorter School of Building Science.

The College has 63 full-time and 15 part-time faculty members, approximately 1200 undergraduate and 100 graduate students. Undergraduate programs are offered in the academic areas of Architecture, Interior Architecture, Building Science, Industrial Design, and Graphic Design. Graduate programs are offered in Community Planning, Landscape Architecture, Design Build, Building Construction, Industrial Design and Executive Master of Real Estate Development. The Dean is the chief administrative officer of the College who interacts with the University and the College’s alumni base and is the College liaison to the design and construction industries. Responsibilities include: 1) collaborating with a diverse faculty to articulate and implement a vision for the College; 2) providing leadership and guidance to enhance creative, scholarship, outreach and research projects; 3) developing extramural funding opportunities; and 4) identifying and providing resources that support and enhance the quality and effectiveness of instruction.

Candidates must possess an appropriate terminal degree in one of the disciplines represented by the College and qualify for appointment as a tenured full professor in the College.
