Search for a Visiting Assisting Professor in Transportation Planning

The Department of Urban Planning and Policy (http://www.uic.edu/cuppa/upp/) in the University of
Illinois at Chicago invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position, effective preferably
January 1, 2013 or August 16, 2013 to May 15, 2014. The appointment may be renewed for up to one
year. The program seeks outstanding candidates with a strong commitment to contribute to teaching and
research in transportation planning, with the ability to teach our required transportation planning and
policy courses as well as other courses in the planning program. Attractive candidates would have a track
record of peer-reviewed publications, research funding, and teaching experience or show great potential to
excel in these three areas. Candidates should have a Ph.D. (or expect conferral before August 15, 2013) in
transportation planning, engineering or a related field.

The College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs (CUPPA) was created in 1995 as part of UIC’s Great
Cities Initiative. The College houses two academic programs, The Urban Planning and Policy Program
and the Public Administration Program. The College hosts seven research centers: the Center for Urban
Economic Development, the Great Cities Institute, the Institute for Research on Race and Public Policy,
the Survey Research Laboratory, the Urban Transportation Center, the Urban Data Visualization Lab, and
the Voorhees Center for Neighborhood and Community Improvement. The Program is also affiliated with
the Institute for Environmental Science and Policy.
