The Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications and nominations for the position of the dean of the College of Architecture.
The College of Architecture consists of the Schools of Architecture, Building Construction, City & Regional Planning, and Industrial Design. The College also includes Georgia Tech’s School of Music which aims to transform traditional academic and conservatory instruction and performance to an environment that combines innovative research and technology with the art of music. The Fall 2011 enrollment of 1,011 students included 508 undergraduates and 503 graduate students. The College employs approximately 150 academic, research, administrative support, and other staff, which includes 45 tenured or tenure-track faculty members.
As chief academic and administrative officer of the College of Architecture, the dean is responsible for providing leadership for the following specific activities: strategic planning, faculty appointments, budgetary and administrative oversight, stewardship and development and multidisciplinary partnerships. The ideal candidate will be an intellectual leader among the faculty, a strong advocate for the teaching and research mission of the College, a preeminent university citizen, and an energetic and conscientious administrator, familiar with issues in higher education, engineering, science, and technology as they interface with the College of Architecture.
