The Department of Architecture, Urban Planning + Design (AUPD) at the University of Missouri – Kansas City invites applications for a tenured or tenure-eligible Associate Professor/Professor position in Urban Planning + Design. The position has an expected start in August 2013.
We seek candidates with a commitment to engaged scholarship, teaching, and planning practice. While we aim to improve our strengths in community development, urban design, historic preservation, transportation and environmental planning; we are especially looking for candidates with the capability to expand our offerings in one of the following areas: housing, finance, and/or collaborative planning processes employing new technologies. A Ph.D. in urban planning or in a related field such as public administration, geography, economics, political science or sociology is the preferred qualification; candidates with substantial professional planning experience and a terminal degree will also be considered. The candidate is also expected to contribute to the Urban Studies program housed in the department. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
