The faculty, staff, and students of the UNLV School of Architecture invite applicants for one full-time, tenure-track/tenured, Associate Professor position beginning fall 2011.
The School of Architecture (SoA) offers professionally accredited degrees in Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Planning, and Interior Architecture. One of the many exciting opportunities at the UNLV SoA is the newly formed relationship with the Brookings Institute to research urban sustainability in arid climates. The SoA is committed to innovative teaching, timely research/creative activity and service to the community. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate design studio as well as related lecture/seminar courses in an area of specialization that will aid in the advancement of the architecture program.
Applicants should possess a Master of Architecture degree or terminal degree in a related discipline, teaching experience and a record of scholarly, creative or professional work. Qualified candidates should evidence significant accomplishments in some combination of academic and practice experience commensurate with the associate professor rank. Professional licensure or the qualifications to pursue, professional registration and LEED certification are desirable. A record of external funding and service to the community is also desirable. Applicants should have a commitment to sustainable design and construction. Qualified candidates may be considered for leadership positions within the School of Architecture.
