The Department of Public Policy and Administration at Boise State University (BSU) seeks applicants for two tenure-track positions. One hire will be at the assistant level and the other at the assistant or associate level to teach in its newly created Master of Community and Regional Planning program. The new degree program may begin in January 2011 if appropriate hires can be made otherwise the program will begin Fall 2011.

Responsibilities:
Teach in the core areas of the curriculum and have expertise in one or more of the following: land use and sustainability; analytical methods and GIS; or economics and community development

For the successful candidate:
• With expertise in land use and sustainability should have an orientation that covers the intersection between land use and transportation policy
• With knowledge in methods and GIS should have expertise in their applications to planning
• Will teach and advise in the graduate Community and Regional Planning program and will participate in community outreach
• In addition, have interests in one or more of the following areas:
 Public finance and urban fiscal impact analysis, economics of transportation planning
 Sustainable development, community design and site planning, land use planning and infrastructure including capital facilities
 Quantitative and qualitative methods
 GIS applications to planning including 3-D planning and visualization techniques,
 Housing, real estate project development, plan making, project management
 Directing student internships

At a minimum, you should have:
• Doctorate degree in planning and
• Record of high quality research and teaching appropriate to the position level for which they apply
