This issue marks a milestone in the history of ACSP—the last issue of Update. For many, many years, Update has been the primary way in which planning schools have communicated with each other between ACSP annual conferences. It is the forum in which major decisions and policies are announced and the forum in which we learn about the successes and accomplishments of our colleagues.
For more than ten years, Nancy Frank has edited Update. Throughout this time, Nancy has patiently but steadfastly encouraged the submission of news items and published them in a timely and professional manner. In doing so, she has performed outstanding service to ACSP in helping us to remain connected to each other.
With the advent of the new ACSP web site, the ACSP Governing Board has elected to discontinue publication of Update and instead employ the website for news from the schools and job advertisements. In doing so, the Governing Board recognizes Nancy’s outstanding service to ACSP and unanimously commended Nancy for her service at its April 10, 2010 meeting in New Orleans. Without Nancy doing this valuable work, our organization would have been greatly diminished. In honoring Nancy’s service, we also want to thank University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee for providing the resources that enabled Nancy to do such a fine job.
Effective with the publication of this last issue of Update, news from planning schools will be posted on the Member News section of the ACSP web site. Please submit content for the web site in PDF format to ddodd@acsp.org. Content will expire three months from posting unless ACSP is notified otherwise. The posting of faculty positions at member schools will also be done on the ACSP web site. Available positions at member schools should be sent as a separate file to ddodd@acsp.org.
