The deadline for the award will be extended to 30 November 2009.

The selected individual receives an Award of US10,000 and a commemorative plaque signed by the executive director of UN-HABITAT.

Eligibility criteria for the 2010 Award:

1. Prominent personality within the human settlements field with an international reputation and recognition;
2. Significant and original contribution to human settlements research, thinking and practice;
3. Development of cutting-edge, innovative and influential human settlements concepts and approaches; and
4. Ability to deliver an exciting and thought-provoking lecture.
    

To nominate a candidate, please submit the following documents to the HS-Net Secretariat (hs-net@unhabitat.org):

1. Full CV of the candidate, including a list of publications; and
2. Statement of support for the candidate (not more than two pages)
