The ACSP Communications Committee is proud to announce the new name for the community forum on our website … UNIVerse! The name announcement comes after the Committee spent the last quarter of 2016 seeking member suggestions for a new name as well as having members vote on the finalists at the annual conference. UNIVerse, suggested by Dr. Deden Rukmana of Savannah State University, was the stand out choice.

“We want the UNIVerse to be a place for advancing dialogue, sharing opportunities, seeking collaborators, and inviting feedback , the range of issues and challenges facing urban and regional planning education and research,” shared Communications Committee Chair and ACSP Secretary Carissa Slotterback.

“ACSP seeks dialogue that engages diverse viewpoints, invites participation from all UNIVerse members, and values productive debate that helps us to think critically about our work and our impact. We seek ongoing engagement to ensure that the UNIVerse remains vital and relevant,” added Slotterback.
