On behalf of GPEIG’s inaugural Outstanding Service Award committee, attend the GPEIG business luncheon to congratulate the first recipient of the prize, Professor Bish Sanyal, Ford International Professor of Urban Development and Planning and Director of the Special Program in Urban and Regional Studies (SPURS)/Humphrey Fellows Program at MIT.

The committee is grateful to have received many excellent letters for nominations, a testament to the collegiality of our group. While we had the unenviable position of selecting just one winner, we unanimously selected Professor Sanyal. As a colleague who was one of the key founders of GPEIG, tirelessly and generously contributing to its formation and acceptance as an official ACSP interest group, this inaugural award seemed an especially fitting way to recognize his contribution.

Please join us in celebrating Prof. Sanyal and the other GPEIG award recipients at the luncheon Thursday, 11:30-1pm in the Grand Ballroom 2.

On behalf of the awards committee members: Vinit Mukhija, Petra Doan, Meenu Tewari, and Deden Rukmana,
