Also, DCRP administers the University’s bachelor programs in Interdisciplinary and Liberal Studies and manages the Center for Urban & Rural Research, which is an Alabama State Data Center Affiliate. The chair reports directly to the dean of the College of Agricultural, Life and Natural Sciences, and exercises supervision of the faculty and staff in the Department.
Job Description (Essential Duties and Responsibilities): As a chief administrative officer of the Department, the chair is expected to direct the visioning and strategic planning process; provide professional, intellectual and administrative leadership, and steward the day to day operations of the Department.

The University of Alberta invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences (EAS) in the Faculty of Science.
The successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the teaching and research agenda of the Planning program (planning.eas.ualberta.ca). The Planning program operates in conjunction with existing programs in EAS, most notably Human Geography and Environmental Earth Sciences. It is also linked with the Applied Land Use Planning Program and City-Region Studies Centre in the Faculty of Extension and the Alberta Land Institute. The successful candidates will be expected to teach a variety of core and optional urban and regional planning courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. A new graduate program is anticipated to be launched in Fall 2016 and will focus on planning for resilience with an emphasis on regional economics, climate change, winter communities, indigenous communities and communities influenced by resource industries and economies.
The successful candidates must have at least one degree in planning and hold a PhD in Planning (or a related field) with a focus on one or more of the following areas: planning for resilience, urban and/or regional economics, regional planning, quantitative methods, climate change adaptation, winter city designs and/or indigenous planning. They will be expected to demonstrate high-quality teaching, a strong research profile and an emerging or established scholarly record, and the capacity for collegial service in the program, the department, the profession, and the community at large. Other considerations for the selection process include: eligibility for membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners, teaching experience in a studio setting, professional planning experience and demonstrated potential to fund, conduct and disseminate research. The nationally recognized Department of Landscape Architecture and Regional & Community Planning (LARCP) at Kansas State University is seeking candidates for a position in the Regional & Community Planning program. The position is open; among similarly qualified candidates preference will be given to those with expertise in one or more areas compatible with university and college foci that are addressed by planning at a regional scale, including transportation, food systems, water, energy, climate change, and social justice. Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties of the appointment include teaching courses in the core MRCP curriculum and in the candidate’s area of expertise, as well as development of a strong, coherent body of externally funded research. Additional responsibilities include:
Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. in Planning or a closely allied field or show evidence that a Ph.D. will be completed prior to the start of the appointment. Candidates must also be qualified to become a certified member of the K-State Graduate Faculty (www.k-state.edu/grad/graduate-handbook/chapter5.html). Candidates must demonstrate evidence of quality, productivity, and focus in research; a record of – or potential for – securing externally funded research; and inspired teaching. Capacity to teach and conduct research in a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment is essential. Ability to help students develop skills in quantitative or geo-spatial analysis through the core MRCP curriculum is preferred, as is a record of substantive professional accomplishment.

The Graduate Program in Urban and Regional Planning at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (IIT) is seeking to expand its program with a tenure-track faculty position. About the Technion and the Graduate Program in Urban and Regional Planning
The Technion is the leading university of science and technology in Israel and is regarded among the top institutions of its kind worldwide. In the past decade, three of its faculty members won two Nobel prizes. The Graduate Program in Urban and Regional Planning (within the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning) was founded in 1969. It is the only planning program in Israel offering a Master’s and PhD planning degrees accredited by the Council for Higher Education. The Program was the first program to join the American Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning (ACSP) as a corresponding member, and the first non-European program to join the Association of European Schools of Planning (AESOP). Currently there are 140 M.Sc students and 30 Ph.D. students at the program.
