The Muskie School of Public Service at the University
of Southern Maine is seeking a fixed-length, full-time faculty for the
period September 1, 2008 to May 31, 2009 to teach in the Master’s programs
in Community Planning and Development and in Public Policy and Management.
The teaching load is two courses per semester; other responsibilities
include advising, research, and public and university service. Areas of
teaching are flexible and may include planning theory, citizen involvement,
land use, zoning, comprehensive planning, transportation, energy, and
environmental planning and policy. The ability to teach GIS and/or
community modeling is desirable.
Appointment will be at the Instructor level for ABD’s
or at the Assistant Professor level with a completed Ph.D. Visiting
appointments for senior faculty or
practitioners with appropriate experience will be considered.
