Description: The Department of Geography and Planning
invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track lecturer in planning;
appointment will be for up to two years. The successful candidate will be
responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in introductory planning,
planning techniques, and project management, with opportunities for teaching
consistent with his/her areas of expertise. Duties will include graduate
instruction at an off-campus site in Asheville, NC (part of the department’s
distance education mission), as well as classes at the main campus in Boone.
Starting date – August, 2008.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in planning is preferred, but ABD
candidates will be considered; education and/or experience in geography are
desirable. Evidence of effective teaching experience is required.
Salary: Salary is competitive and commensurate
with qualifications.
